Meeting the People of Greece – Lovely!
Four of us traveling to Ancient Olympia Greece. We were picked up early by the ship by Takis (Tsaparas). Went straight to Olympia, before the crowds! So peaceful and photo friendly. Takis made us feel welcome and comfortable- obviously a gift he has.
In our tour we saw the big sites, and so much more. He took us to a family winery where we were showed the farm by their daughter. We went to a lovely room for wine tasting where her Mom and she wined and dined us! Excellent wine tasting experience.
From there we went to the Kremasti Monastery, now Nunnery. Takis took us to meet the Nun there and she welcomed us in. The Monastery is one of those little gems.
Then we went to a local pastry shop, where we saw behind the scenes and visited with the owner and staff. With delicious goodies from there,
Takis took us to a restaurant by the sea. We had coffee and enjoyed our baklava from the shop there. There we crossed paths with George and his tourists for the day. They were from Canada too.
It was a wonderful day. They are very aware of ship times and plan timing carefully.
We confidently recommend Takis and George and their beautiful comfortable vehicles to anyone traveling to Ancient Olympia Greece. The price was very reasonable, we saw a lot, and felt warmly welcomed to Greece.
In fact Takis seemed more like family than a tour guide.
